Flower Fairy

Do you know the difference between a fairy, a sprite, an elf and a pixie?

A Fairy ( or Faery) is the general name for all these diminutive, legendary beings. The typical fairy is magical and ethereal and generally good-natured, and can be found in many places, including the woods, meadows, and sometimes even in flowers.

A Pixie is a small fairy (it is assumed that the name pixie comes from the Swedish word for little fairy). They seem to be found in Devon, Cornwall and Ireland, and are mischievous beings, often dressed in shabby attire.

Sprites are a type of fairy, appearing almost exclusively in European folklore.

Elves are found in German tales. They inhabit the forest or occasionally caves or wells. They are said to have magical powers.
